Summary

Relatively young among FSAE teams, the UCSC FSAE Electric team successfully built two cars during my membership in the organization. My roles on the team was to design and manufacture the composite body panel for the second revision of the team's car, "FS-1". I conducted a multitude of aerodynamics and performance simulations for the team. We managed to build a DIY autoclave to cure the composite nosecone and body panels; however, the team's limited resources complicated the physical manufacture of the aero-package I designed to accompany the primary fairing. That being said, I gained valuable experience working within a fast-paced engineering team and was privileged to accompany the team to a number of tours (the Fremont Tesla factory, and NASA Ames among others).
